Meeting Time/Place

The Boca Raton Society meets on the third Thursday of each month. Meetings start at 7:00 p.m. and are held at the Boca Raton Community Center located at 150 Crawford Blvd, Boca Raton, FL (the northwest corner of 2nd Ave/Boca Raton Blvd and Palmetto Park Blvd).

Directions: From I-95 take the Palmetto Park Rd exit east. Continue on Palmetto for 1.6 miles (5 stop lights) to 2nd Ave/Boca Raton Blvd and turn left (north) at this intersection. Turn left (west) again at the very next light (one block) into the parking lot shared by City Hall and the Community Center. The meeting is held in the community center (smaller building nearest the basketball court) in the last meeting room on the left.

Schedule of Events

4/24/08MeetingFirst Time Ever in the history of our society... we are moving our meeting to the 4th(!) Thursday of the month. We will be meeting at Mike and Elaine Zimmerman's association club house at 7:00 P.M. Why are we doing this you ask? I'm glad you asked. Our speaker this month is noted author and bromeliaphile Francisco Oliva Estave from Venezuela.
There will be a slide show plus a DVD presentation of the Venezuela tepuis.
Directions

The Woodfield Hunt Club Clubhouse is located just South of the intersection of Jog and Yamato Roads in Boca Raton. The North Entrance to the Woodfield Hunt Club gated community is located 3/10ths of a mile South of the intersection of Jog and Yamato on the West side of Jog Road. Turn Right at the stop sign just after the Guard House on to Woodfield Blvd. The Clubhouse is located past the 10th house ( 4418 ) on the right hand side as the road curves. There is no sign but the tennis courts are visible from the road. There is parking for 20 cars so please carpool. If conditions are dry some additional parking is available in the swale of the road.

4/26 - 27Mounts Sale We will not have a ramble this month due to the sale at Mounts. Volunteers are needed to man the booth. Saturday morning is when the fun starts so be there by 8AM. Sign up at the meetings. Jeff Hutchinson will need a hand to clean up our bromeliad bed to make sure it's looking its best for the show. See Jeff.

Dues

Dues are due in January. Please send your payment to Treasurer or Membership Chair. The dues are $15.00 for individuals or $20 for family. If badges are needed, they are $8 each.

Refreshments

We are asking the members to bring in a snack or other refreshments on the month of their birthday. Please coordinate what you'll bring to the meetings with the Refreshments Chairman.

Library

Check out our Library. If you want to recommend a book for the Society to purchase, please see our Librarian.

Roster & Bylaws

If you are missing your roster or By Laws please ask the Membership Chairman or any of the officers for your hard copies. We are not providing electronic copies of the roster to ensure the privacy of our members. You can get a soft copy of our Bylaws here. By Laws

Show & Tell

Have an interesting plant that's blooming? ... or doing something odd? ... or you just don't know what's going on with it?

Bring it in and show the members your plants. Someone should have an answer to your questions. If you just want some bragging rights to an excellently cultivated specimen, by all means bring it in for Show and Tell.
