We invite you to join the South Bay Bromeliad Associates to learn about Bromeliads.  The dues are only $10 per year and you will receive a monthly newsletter and participate in club activities.  You will enjoy the friendship and knowledge shared by our members.  Our members range in experience from new growers to those with decades of growing experience.  Bromeliads are easy to grow, offer a great range of beauty and interesting forms.

Club activities include:

Regular Monthly Meetings, held on the first Sunday of each month (except July, August and December) at the Community Room of the Palos Verdes Main Library, 701 Silver Spur Road, from 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM.

Guest Speakers present slide shows of trips to Bromeliad habitats, methods of growing Bromeliads, or demonstrations of potting and growing techniques.

Lending Library contains outstanding books on the cultivation and identification of Bromeliads.

Plant Auction is held at each regular meeting, where you can buy Bromeliads, often at bargain prices.  You can also sell your excess plants.

Show and Tell Table is provided where members bring in plants in bloom or those that they want to show to the members.  You can even bring in problem plants or those you want help in identifying.

Annual Bromeliad Show and Sale is held in August each year at Rainforest Flora (19121 Hawthorne Blvd., Torrance).  You get to see what beauties the other club members have been growing.  You can buy new plants from both club members and commercial growers. Another fundraiser sale is held in March (plants for sale, not competition).

Annual Bus Trip to growers from Santa Barbara to San Diego, where you have the chance to acquire choice plants.

Holiday Luncheon where we can relax with our club friends. A plant gift exchange is held for those who wish to participate.
