67(2)92-106 (PDF/A 1646 KBytes) published online: May 13 2020 Notes from the 2017 Sunny Broms Conference
Peter CookThe Sunshine Coast Bromeliad Society Inc., hosted the 19th Australasian Bromeliad Conference at Caloundra, Queensland, between the 30th March and 2nd April 2017. Planning for the conference started after we were awarded the privilege of hosting the conference at Cool Broms in New Zealand in 2013. Our promotional activities at conferences in Sydney and Hawaii as well as via our Facebook and web site created extensive worldwide interest (Over 56000 visits to our web site from 49 countries, 847 Facebook friends and 398 expressions of interest to attend). As Sunny Broms was on the Sunshine Coast in South East Queensland and the heart of bromeliad growing in Australia, we hoped that we would attract lots of people to our conference. This proved to be the case, with 277 registrants, the most at any of the last 19 conferences!!INDEX to all articles.
