Genus: Fascicularia

Fascicularia is a genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae. The name is derived from the Latin words fasciculus (bundle) and arius (pertaining to). Only one species, Fascicularia bicolor, with two subspecies is known. It is indigenous to Chile and reportedly now naturalized by human intervention in cool areas of France and Great Britain. In the wild, plants are terrestrial or saxicolous (growing on rocks).

Number of accepted species in this genus is 1 (source: species counts in the Encyclopaedia of Bromeliads).
