Genus: Pseudaechmea

Pseudaechmea is a genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae. It contains a single species, Pseudaechmea ambigua, from Colombian forest in Zaragosa municipality, Antioquia, at 500-600m. The genus name comes from the latin word "pseudo" (false), meaning "false or wrong Aechmea", due to its morphological flower differences.
