Genus: QuesneliaQuesnelia is a genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae. The genus is named For M. Quesnel, French consul to French Guiana. Endemic to eastern Brazil, this genus is split into in two recognized subgenera: the type subgenus and subgenus Billbergiopsis. They grow mainly as epiphytes in forested areas, but some species are also terrestrials.Number of accepted species in this genus is 24 (source: species counts in the Encyclopaedia of Bromeliads). |
