Genus: Ronnbergia

Ronnbergia is a genus of the subfamily Bromelioideae. Native to South and Central America, this genus was named for Auguste Ronnberg, Belgian Director of Agriculture and Horticulture in 1874. The genus is closely aligned to Aechmea, with a number of Aechmea species transferred to Ronnbergia after a 2017 study of the Ronnbergia Alliance. (Aguirre-Santoro. 2017). They grow in a wide range of habitats both as epiphytes and terrestrials.
