[GrowRR] xeric Tillandsias

Having been asked to write articles on xeric and succulent bromeliads, I am 
now working on a list of which species in the genus Tillandsia are eligible. 
  Some are pretty obvious - palacea. latifolia, xerographica.  Others I am 
not so sure of.  How about duratii, purpurea, diaguetensis, streptocarpa, 
streptocarpa?  Those who have been in the field, which ones have you seen 
growing on cacti and other xeric plants - and what characteristics did the 
climate have?  I am guessing that these species live in areas with either 
daily fog or a lengthy [eriod each year with high humidity.
