[GrowRR] What is this symptom

Greetings,
Having viewed both your photos, I've concluded that your plant is suffering
the early stages of rot. As you say that your window receives little
daylight, I must advise that near all Tillandsias require strong light levels to
prosper. It is most advisable that you place your plant outdoors, to receive at
least full sun during morning and afternoon hours with some overhead protection
from the strongest midday sun. If this is'nt possible, perhaps there is a
window in your home where stronger light levels can be acheived. Another
alternative may be with the use of grow lights. A florescent fixture with two 40 watt
tubes should prove adequate, with a timer you can adjust daylength from 12 to 18
hours per day to give the plants some seasonal variation. I'd keep the plants
a minimum of 4-6 inches below the tubes to prevent scorching or overheating.
Lastly it is also possible that you may be overwatering. If you are soaking
your plant(s), a period of 10-20 minutes should be adequate at intervals of 3-4
days apart. Overwatering alone will cause rot, which will happen more quickly
with reduced light. The plant in your photos should be allowed to dry at least
4-5 days before you resume normal culture. The lowermost leaves will probably
be shed, but if caught in time the plant may yet recover. In the final stages
of rot, gently tugging on the centermost leaves will cause the center to pull
out of the plant, confirming it's demise. Hope this helps.
                                                                Best Regards,
Kevin
