Mature broad-leaved rosette to 1.5 metres diameter x 80cms. high. Leaf width 15cms. Bronzed green or red to pink foliage with a waxy white indument on the top surface. Erect spike to 1.3 metres tall with large, brick red / rose scape bracts and yellow extruded flowers to 15cms. long. Named by Bruce Dunstan for Brisbane grower Arno King who brought back from New Zealand Alcantarea seed of undetermined parentage.The seed parent was a plant growing in Andrew Steens' garden in Matakana, 67kms. north of Auckland.
