ALCANTAREA ‘Bart Simpson’ ? / Byth J* 2005

Mature, broad-leaved rosette to 1 metre diameter x 70cms. high. Leaf width 13cms. Moss green fluted leaves edged red with red "fingernails". Erect, branched spike to 2.4 metres tall with light green scape bracts tinged red, green sepals and golden yellow extruded flowers . Raised in Australia from New Zealand seed (ex Landsendt Nursery, Auckland) brought back by Brisbane grower Arnold King in 2005. Named after Bart Simpson, the television cartoon character whose head profile resembles the plant's inflorescence emerging. Reg. Doc. 11/2014 by John Byth.
