Mature, stocky, vase-shaped rosette to 35cms. diameter x 50cms. high, flaring at the top. Glossy, sepia red / black leaves with black spines. Erect cylindric, branched inflorescence of ruby red bracts and pale mauve petals tipped white. Darker-leaved species form of Q. edmundoi var. rubrobracteata, imported by Olive Branch Nursery, Brisbane , from Michael's Bromeliads, Florida, circa 2008. Exact origin unrecorded. Reg.
