Mature upright, stocky rosette to 13" ( 33cm.) diameter x 22" (55cm. ) high. Glossy, arching, purplish maroon leaves, 2" (5cm) wide with irregular black cross-banding, large black spines and some black spots throughout the top of the rosette. Lower leaves hang at blooming.
