FEATURED THIS MONTH: “Bromeliads in Australia: The 2008 BSI World Conference”

Cristy Brenner will share her experiences at the 2008 BSI World Conference in Australia. She has attended all of the BSI World Conferences (WBC) since 2000, and states that this conference was definitely one of the best. The conference was held in Cairns, in the tropical area of Northeastern Australia. Many members from our society and other Southern California societies attended. The Aussie’s are exceptional growers and hybridizers and created beautiful displays. We also toured many amazing gardens and enjoyed the Aussie’s great hospitality. This talk is designed to get us excited about the 2026 World Conference that our society will be hosting. We will have the opportunity to see how an international conference is organized to give us some ideas for our future conference. Hopefully, all of the Southern California Bromeliad societies will participate with us to make this a very successful conference.

Please join us for this informative presentation and enjoy all of our other Bromeliad activities such as show and tell, a raffle, silent auction of unusual plants, and great refreshments.

VISITORS ARE WELCOME - come to the meeting, sign in, tell us how you found out about us and you will receive a free raffle ticket!

If members have an especially interesting plant to share they often donate an offset to our SILENT AUCTION or RAFFLE TABLE. We often have special plants for you to bid. From common and small to rare and larger plants. The funds raised help to offset the room-rental costs and club activities.

Normally we have delicious refreshments and special treats that enhance a great evening. Currently however, due to CV-19 restrictions, that is not possible. We hope that can change soon.

Buy items needed to help your plants look their best and thrive! We have pots, tags, and other special items you need.
