ALCANTAREA ‘Morries Blue’ ? / Giddins R* ?

Mature, large rosette to 1-1/2 metres or more diameter x 90cms. high. Very broad leaves to 19cms each across, scurfed smokey blue grey / green on the obverse and coloured burgundy red on the reverse. This vigorous cultivar was tissue-cultured from an Alc. imperialis "rubra" clone and throws hair pups when young. Massive inflorescence up to 3 metres tall. Named in honour of Morrie Spina of Tropical Coast Palms, Innisfail, Queensland who supplied the stock to Bunnings hardware stores. Reg. Doc. 11/2013 by Marie Giddins.
