Mature, open large rosette to 80cm. diameter. Broad, wine red leaves, tinged / speckled green, particularly on inner growth with pleated portions towards the pointed leaf tips. Erect, maroon-stemmed, branched spike to 1.8 metres tall with dusky red peduncle and floral bracts, yellowish green ovaries and sepals, plus golden yellow flowers with exserted stamens. "Ataahua" means "beautiful" in the Maori language. Grex sibling = Alc. 'Totara Burgundy Rose'. Reg. Doc. 11/2019 by Shane Weston. Country of origin: New Zealand
