Mature rosette to 25cm. wide x 22cm. high. Stacked, narrow, deep crimson, white-scurfed leaves, directed upwards from the centre with old growth slightly drooping. Leaf undersides also with scurfy scales arranged in defined rows, Large, white-scurfed spines with tips hooked and bent randomly in irregular directions, tubular orange flowers.
