Now published in 2020 as a valid species. Plants with scurfy, silvery-grey leaves labelled as T. 'Chicitos White' or T. 'Chicitos Weiss', should be relabelled as T. santiagoensis. Plants with greenish, smoother leaves labelled as T. 'Chicitos Green' or T. 'Chicitos Grun', should be relabelled as T. santiagoensis forma adpressa. (G. Barclay, BCR Registrar)
