cv. of Androlepis skinneri X Aechmea fasciata - Chevalier describes the hybrid, "A vigorous plant w/green leaves which are farinaceous and erect - tubiform for two thirds of their length and then recurved thus resembling a large vase. The inflorescence resembles that of Aechmea fasciata but is a darker red". Awarded in Ghent in July, 1943.
